NFL Odds Report 9/24: 6pt Teaser Chiefs -0.5 + Ravens -1

NFL odds report 4

I concluded week 3 with a loss Monday night, unfortunately, as turnovers ruined my under (thanks a lot, Case Keenum). Still, overall, I went 7-4 in Week 3 and 3-0 in my top plays bringing my record for the season to 22-16 and 7-2 in my top plays. Every day on CA Betting News¬†during the NFL betting season, I break down and analyze at least one NFL game for the coming week with my top plays of the week coming on Friday, which includes one California team. Using the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook, here’s my first play of Week 4:

6pt Teaser: Chiefs -0.5 vs. Lions + Ravens -1 vs. Browns

FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: KC -0.5/Bal -1

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: KC -0.5/Bal -1

chiefsravensWe’ll start the week with a teaser that gives me a lot of confidence, even though I’m not a huge teaser person. First, starting with the Kansas City Chiefs, who alongside with New England, have looked the most dominant in the AFC and arguably the whole NFL. Patrick Mahomes has already thrown for 1,195 yards in three games and has 10 touchdown passes. They face off against a Lions pass defense ranked 22nd in the NFL and who struggled against Kyler Murray in the opening game. I think the Chiefs will be able to move the ball easily on the Lions in an indoor environment and should be able to cover the -6.5 number, but I’ll play it safe and just go for the win.

The Ravens play the team they used to be, the Browns, in an NFC North rivalry matchup in Baltimore. The Browns are just not there yet. Against superior competition, they’ve not been able to hold up, losing at home to Tennessee and Los Angeles. They now up against a ferocious defense in Baltimore whose defensive numbers are slightly skewed this year because they got “Mahomes’d” last weekend but they do rank third against the run, which is important when facing a running back in Nick Chubb. After giving up 43 points to a mobile quarterback in Marcus Mariota in week 1, they now face the most mobile of all the quarterbacks in Lamar Jackson who has made plays all year with his arm and legs. The Ravens have been able to use the inside running game with Mark Ingram and pound it between the guards. The Ravens rank No. 1 in the NFL in rushing offense and total offense. I really like Baltimore here getting the points, but like Kansas City, will play it safe and combine it into a teaser.

Prediction: Chiefs 31, Lions 23; Ravens 27, Browns 10
