The Ravens put a hurting on the Jets on Thursday night and helped me get off to a solid 1-0 start to the week and improving my record to 80-68-1 on the season. Each day on CA Betting News, I will give you the best plays for the NFL and college football week’s action. Here are my top plays for week 15 using the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.
Table of Contents
New England Patriots -10.5 @ Cincinnati Bengals
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: NE -10.5
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: NE -10.5
The Patriots come in limping after a stinging loss to the Chiefs last week and losers of two straight. The Bengals, on the other hand, won their first game two weeks ago and put up a fight a week ago in Cleveland. However, the Patriots need this game. They are in danger of slipping behind the Chiefs and into third place in the AFC East, thus losing their bye. Their three losses this year have all come to the hands of AFC Divisional leaders, while almost all of their 10 wins have come in blowouts to weak opponents. This is a weak opponent, and the Patriots defense should have their way with Andy Dalton and the struggling Bengals starting offense. Bill Bellichick is excellent against inferior competition this season and should be able to exploit the Bengals poor pass defense. I like the Pats here in a blowout to get back on track.
Prediction: Patriots 31, Bengals 12
Minnesota Vikings @ Los Angeles Chargers +3
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: LA +3
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: LA +2
As crazy as this sounds, the 5-8 Los Angeles Chargers are extremely close from being a 10-2 or 9-3 football team. They’ve had some extremely tough losses this year, losing 6 of their 8 games by less than 4 points. They are also getting healthy at the right time and still have their eyes on a playoff spot at 8-8 should things back up at the sixth spot. Derwin James is now healthy for the defense, giving them a huge boost which was on display last week in their blowout win at Jacksonville. The offensive line problems which gave them misery in the early part of the season have been fixed, and the Chargers are now running the ball effectively, using Austin Ekeler and Melvin Gordon to create defensive mismatches. The Vikings will be limited or even without Adam Thielen this week. I love the Chargers at home in this spot. They’re a team trending in the right direction, while I have my doubts about the Vikings defense after what they showed in Seattle a couple weeks ago. I’m not going to take seriously their game a week ago against a horrible Lions defense. This will be a difficult challenge. I like the Chargers to cover and win the game at home.
Prediction: Chargers 27, Vikings 24
New York Jets @ Baltimore Ravens -9.5 1H
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Bal -9.5 1H
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Bal -9.5 1H
The Ravens have dominated their competition over the last nine games, going 9-0 in that stretch. Even more impressive are victories over the Seahawks, Patriots, Texans, Rams, 49ers, and Bills in six of their last seven games. In their last game against a team with a losing record, they won 49-13. The Ravens lead the league in rushing offense but will be tested tonight against a Jets run defense that ranks No. 2. However, a few weeks back when the Ravens faced the No. 4 run defense in New England, they racked up over 200 yards on them on the ground. The Ravens will likely try and move the ball through the air tonight with Lamar Jackson nursing an injury, and the Jets pass defense, which ranks among the worst in the league. I’m not sure the Ravens can cover such a big number over the course of the game, but they will get off to a quick start tonight like they have been doing all season. They have outscored their opponents 97-36 in the first half during their last five games. They will continue to dominate in the first half tonight and build the lead. I like the Ravens -9.5 in the first half.
Prediction: Halftime Ravens 20, Jets 3
