Week 10 kicks off tonight in Oakland as the Chargers take on the Raiders in a key AFC West matchup that could impact these teams’ wild card chances. While I don’t really have much of a lean on the overall line, I do like some player props tonight that I will share with you below. Each day on CA Betting News during the NFL betting season, I will analyze at least one game and give you the best angle to play with my top three plays coming on Friday. Thus far, I am 54-46-1 on the season playing the number, which includes prop bets. Here are my Thursday night plays for Week 10 using the lastest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.
Josh Jacobs (Oak) OVER 77.5 rushing yards vs. Los Angeles Chargers
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: NA
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Jacobs OVER 77.5 rushing yards
One of the top rookie standouts this season has been Josh Jacobs who is one of the top candidates for Offensive Rookie of the Year. In his last three games, Jacobs has averaged 108 yards per game and has topped 100 yards in three of those four games. The only game he didn’t was on the road in Houston when he was nursing an injury. The Chargers run defense ranks No. 20 in the NFL, so they are vulnerable to giving up big games to running backs. Backs have averaged 114 yards per game on their defense. Jacobs has run strong at home this year, averaging 101.3 yards per game at Oakland’s home stadium. In what should be a bit of a shootout as evidenced by the high over/under number, Jacobs should get a lot of carries and should go over this run yardage total which is pretty low if you ask me. I like Jacobs to have another 100-yard game tonight.
Prediction: Josh Jacobs 22 carries, 101 yards
Hunter Henry (LAC) OVER 63.5 receiving yards vs. Oakland Raiders
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: NA
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: H.Henry OVER 63.5 receiving yards
The Raiders have done well stopping the run this year, but against the pass, they’ve been abysmal. Yes, they even rank worse than the Buccaneers and the Dolphins. The Raiders dead last in the NFL in pass defense and have given up big games to wide receivers and tight ends. The Raiders rank No. 30 in the NFL covering tight ends this year, giving up 65 yards per game to them, and the Chargers have one of the best in the game, Hunter Henry. Since Henry has come back from his knee injury, he has gone over this receiving total in three of his four games. He is averaging more than eight targets per game, and against this Raiders pass defense, he is likely to continue to see a lot of looks and rack up the yards. This is a very low number for Henry who should approach 100 yards tonight. I’ll go over Henry’s total yards.
Prediction: Hunter Henry 8 catches, 85 yards
