NFL Odds Report 10/9: Dolphins +3.5 vs. Redskins

NFL odds report 9

Week 6 kicks off a day from now with a Thursday night matchup between the AFC’s only undefeated team, the Patriots, and the Giants. Each day on CA Betting News, I will analyze¬† and give my angle on at least one play for the upcoming week’s action, with my top three plays of the week will come on Friday of which I am 10-5-1 on this year. Here is another look at one of my plays for Week 6 using the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.

Washington Redskins at Miami Dolphins +3.5

FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Mia +3.5

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Mia +3.5

dolphinsYes, I’m going out on that limb. The Dolphins return from a bye week and will look for their first win of the season as they face the NFC’s only winless team, the Redskins. After firing Jay Gruden early in the week, the Redskins will try and re-organize things after an awful start to the season. They have lost their last three games by a combined 63 points and have been playing all three quarterbacks trying to figure out some sort of strategy. Colt McCoy will reportedly get the start this Sunday down in the Miami heat. The Dolphins, of course, have been horrible their first four games, losing by a combined 137 points. However, there are some signs of life in Miami, unlike Washington, that things may be moving in a more positive direction. They held their own in the first half against the Cowboys and the Chargers the last two games before falling apart in the second half. They have faced a brutal schedule the first four games, but now finally play an opponent more in their skill level. Coming off a bye week, Miami has had the chance to hit the reset button, and if they’re ever going to pull off a win this year, this is probably it. Getting 3.5 points, they should be able to keep this within a field goal either way in what should be an ugly, low-scoring game between two offenses that are a mess right now. Not sure Miami will pull off the win outright, but I think they can at least keep it tight and force this game to come down to a play or two. I will take the winless Dolphins to cover at home against the winless Redskins.

Prediction: Redskins 17, Dolphins 16
