NFL Odds Report 10/18 (TOP PLAYS): Raiders +5.5 @ Packers, Falcons OVER 26.5 team points, Titans -2 vs. Chargers

It’s Friday which means it’s the unveiling of my top 3 plays for the week. Thus far, I am 10-8-1 on the season in my top plays. Yes, I was once 9-3, have gone into a bit of a slump. Overall, I am 41-37 on the season after last night’s win. Each day on on CA Betting News during the NFL betting season, I will provide for you my best NFL plays for the week, including my breakdowns of the California team’s games. My top three plays are on Fridays and my best player props come on Sunday. Here are my week 7 top plays using the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.

Oakland Raiders +5.5 @ Green Bay Packers

FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Oak +5.5

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Oak +5.5

raidersWe talked last week about the struggles for Monday night teams the following week. Thus far this season, teams coming off a Monday night are just 3-9 straight up the next week. The Packers definitely are a team to be monitored for a letdown. Coming off a divisional game against Detroit, they are trying to recover from several injuries on a short week. Devanta Adams has been ruled out for this game while Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are both listed as questionable. The Raiders, meanwhile, are coming off and a two-game winning streak. They weren’t just any two wins, either. They went to Indy and dominated the Colts in the passing game and then went to London and knocked off the 3-1 Bears. It’s time to take notice that this is a good Raiders team. This number should be closer to 3, but public perception is the Packers are 5-1 and are a public team, while bettors still see the Raiders from last year in the back of their minds. But Oakland is well-balanced offensively and can cause problems both on the ground and through the air on this Packer defense. I’m not saying Oakland walks out of Lambeau Field with a win, but give me those 5.5 points on the Raiders. I’ll definitely take them.

Prediction: Packers 26, Raiders 24

Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons OVER 26.5 team points

FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Atl OVER 26.5 team points

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Atl OVER 26.5 team points

falconsJust like the game above, this game is all about perception. The 1-5 Falcons are struggling mightily and are taking on the NFC West champion Rams who bettors keep expecting to return to last year’s form. And there’s a chance they may may this week. I like the Falcons and the points, but I love the Falcons and the team total points. The Rams pass defense is a mess, and the Falcons pass offense is the only part of their game worth trusting. The Falcons rank No. 2 in the NFL for pass offense with Matt Ryan throwing for over 317 yards per game. The Rams pass defense started the year fine, but were exposed by Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson in weeks 4 and 5. The Rams just sent Marcus Peters off to the Ravens and acquired Jalen Ramsey, but Ramsey is not likely to be available for this game. If he somehow is, I would hedge this bet. However, this is assuming he is not signed and/or fit to play yet. The Falcons have scored 55 points in this last two weeks. This should be a shootout in Atlanta. I like the Falcons to cover, but moreso, I like them going over the team total points.

Prediction: Rams 36, Falcons 34

Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans -2

FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Ten -2

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Ten -2

titansA battle of two teams who let me down in my top plays last week. Hopefully I’ll get it right this week. For starters, I think the quarterback change in Tennessee is a good thing. Marcus Mariota was struggling and Ryan Tannehill can allow the team to hit the reset button. While he doesn’t possess the threat on the ground that Mariota does, he can make plays more with his arm, and Tennessee has some weapons at wide receiver and in the running game as well. The Chargers, to me, are a mess. They are getting decimated with injuries and that offensive line is a major problem that has been exposed the last two weeks. Now the Titans don’t have the talent on the line that Denver and Pittsburgh has, but they can still put pressure on Philip Rivers and create problems for that offense. Until the Chargers show they can block for Rivers, I don’t like their chances at all moving forward. The Titans are still a good team, in my opinion, that was suffering from horrible quarterback play. I also expect Derrick Henry to run on a Chargers defense that ranks No. 22 against the run. I think the qb change turns out to be a good move that lifts the Titans to a win this weekend over the struggling Chargers.

Prediction: Titans 27, Chargers 13
