We are exactly one week away from Super Bowl LIV in Miami. Today, the Pro Bowl takes center stage in Orlando. I have no opinion or break down of that as it’s just a simple exhibition. As least the weather in Orlando this year looks better than the 40 degree rain storm that forced them to go to a running clock all game last year. Thus far, we are 103-87-3 on the season. Each day on CA Betting News, we will give you our best analysis and angles for Super Bowl LIV in Miami. Here is another bet for you for Super Bowl LIV using the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.
San Francisco 49ers +0.5 1st quarter vs. Kansas City Chiefs
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: SF +0.5 1st quarter
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds:SF +0.5 1st quarter
The Kansas City Chiefs have been slow starters this season and it’s been showcased in the postseason. They got down to a 24-0 deficit early against the Texans and also got down 10-0 to the Titans in the first quarter a week ago. In both games, they hit the gas and then dominated the games from the second quarter on. But even going back to the regular season, the Chiefs are slow starters. A year ago, the Chiefs averaged 8.9 points in the first quarter. In 2019, they have only scored an average of 5 points in the first quarter.
The 49ers, on the other hand, rank No. 3 in the NFL in first-quarter scoring and No. 1 in first quarter point differential. In both their playoff games, they got off to fast starts, building early double-digit leads against the Packers and Vikings. All week, we’ve been breaking down how the 49ers will focus hard on getting off to a fast start and utilizing the passing game to set up the run. While I haven’t picked an angle on the game yet, I do like the 49ers winning the game early. They are a better out-of-the-gate team and will flex their muscle early. However, like I said a week ago, I expect a close game and do think the Chiefs find their way back and keep this game extremely close in the 2nd half. But early on, there is a much better likelihood of the 49ers either keeping this game scoreless or tied or winning the game outright through one quarter. I like the 49ers +0.5 in the first quarter over the Chiefs. I also lean that way for the first half, but am staying away from that for now.
Prediction: First quarter 49ers 3, Chiefs 0
