Each day on CA Betting News, we will give you our best playoff plays for you for the NFL. Here is our second playoff play using the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.
Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans 1H UNDER 22.5
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Buf-Hou 1H UNDER 20.5
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds:Buf-Hou 1H UNDER 22.5
The first playoff game to kickoff this weekend will be 11-5 Buffalo and 10-6 Houston. Points will be difficult to come by in this game. Buffalo comes in with the No. 3 total defense and No. 4 passing defense. This should hinder the Texans passing game with Deschaun Watson. Buffalo, however, doesn’t have the offensive firepower to put up a lot of points against anyone. The Bills offense comes in ranked No. 24 and are scoring just 19.6 points per game. It’s a testament to how good their defense is that they have 11 wins despite scoring under 20 points a game. While Houston’s defense isn’t great, ranked No. 28, they should be able to hold their own against Buffalo’s struggling offense.
The overall total for this game is right around 43-45 points, depending on which book you look at. Eight of the last 9 Bills games have produced totals under 43 points, including their last five. In close games like this one should be, there’s always the chance for late offensive outbreaks and overtime to push the total in this game up a bit. While I think this whole game lands under the total, I like the first half under a little better. This will be a slow slugfest early on. The Bills defensive weakness is their defense and the Texans will likely stick to the ground game to try and open up the passing game later on. I just don’t see a lot of points in this game. The Texans offense has struggled in recent weeks and the Bills aren’t the team to face if you are looking to put up a lot of points. Take the first half under in this game. For the overall game, I do like Buffalo to win, although I’m not brimming with as much confidence as I am the under.
Prediction: Halftime Texans 10, Bills 9
