49ers

I am a believer that the best tight ends in the NFL (Travis Kelce and George Kittle) will shine on Sunday and face off in the Super Bowl. I already took Kelce the other day to go over his yardage and I am now in on Kittle. And why not? The first time these teams faced, Kittle caught nearly one-half of Jimmy Garoppolo’s completions and went off for 129 yards and a touchdown. Hampered with an injury most of the year, Kittle hasn’t seen full-time action in all of his games. However, in his last 12 regular season games, even when playing hurt or part-time, he has gone over this receiving yardage 8 times. He was held in check last week by a strong Vikings defense defending tight ends, but the Packers aren’t as strong defending tight ends and they proved that in their first meeting with Kittle. In fact, the Packers rank No. 7 for most yards given up to a tight end during a game.  They give up over 57 yards per game to tight ends, and most of those tight ends are not nearly in the same ballpark as Kittle who is arguable the best or second-best receiving weapon tight end in the NFL. I look for Kittle to actually lead the 49ers in receiving yards on Sunday. In my breakdown yesterday, I talked about how I expect the 49ers to pass a lot to set up the run later in the game. They will come out throwing and take advantage of a vulnerable Packers secondary up the middle of the field which is where Kittle will get a lot of his yards.

To go on top of that, Kittle is +130 to score a touchdown. San Francisco should score four or five times game and Kittle will have at least one of these. He scored twice in these teams’ last meeting. So there are two golden prop bets for you. Kittle will have a career day and help take the 49ers to the Super Bowl.

Prediction: Kittle 7 catches, 116 yards, TD

NFC Championship Prediction: 49ers 31, Packers 14
