The Divisional Round kicks off on Saturday with the 49ers-Vikings and Titans-Ravens matchups late in the day and at night. So far we are 96-79-2 on the NFL betting season. Each day on CA Betting News, we will give you our best postseason plays for the playoff week. Here is another play from the divisional round, as well as a futures bet for the AFC champion, using the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.
Russell Wilson OVER 24.5 rushing yards vs. Green Bay
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Wilson OVER 24.5 yards
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Wilson OVER 24.5 yards
When it comes to big games, Russell Wilson does not back down and uses every part of his body to try and get a win. That includes the legs which Wilson tends to use in close games. And I do believe this is a game that comes to down the wire, meaning Wilson will be scrambling and making plays with his arm and his legs. Let’s look at this number at 24.5. In Seattle’s 9 games against teams with a winning record, Wilson has gone over 24.5 yards rushing in 7 of those games. That is 7-2 over this number. And in an atmosphere where it’s going to be cold and the running game will be essential, look for Wilson to keep the ball on some spread option plays. Green Bay comes in ranked No. 23 against the run and look for the Seahawks and Russell Wilson to exploit that. I love this over as my best bet so far of the weekend. Wilson will find a way to make plays with his legs.
Prediction: Russell Wilson 9 carries, 35 yards
Kansas City Chiefs +170 to win the AFC
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: KC +170 to win AFC
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: KC +170 to win AFC
To me, this is more about value, and I see the Chiefs more at a +100 number to win the AFC, not +170. So I will take the bait on this number. I think they have just as good a chance to win the conference as Baltimore. They have experience from getting close a year ago and their defense has played much more solid over the last half of the season. To me, the Ravens have the more difficult game this weekend and I actually have the more dangerous game this weekend, and if there’s going to be an upset, it’s going to be in Baltimore where the weather could be a factor. I do think there are holes in the Ravens secondary that Patrick Mahomes can exploit. I think the 49ers will win the NFC, so if you’re a believer in that, take into account that only twice in the last 20 years have two number 1 seeds actually faced off in the Super Bowl. Regardless of that statistic, I like the Chiefs to win out in the playoffs and represent the AFC in Miami next month. Mahomes’ experience over Lamar Jackson will come in handy more than you know come next Sunday.
