College Football Odds Report 1/1: Wisconsin (-3) over Oregon, Auburn (-7.5) over Minnesota

Happy New Year! This will be our final day of college football picks until we hit the National Championship game on Jan. 13 which we are still analyzing and studying to see which is the best angle to take. A 1-1 day yesterday puts us 4-5 on the bowl season. Each day on CA Betting News, we will give you our best college footballl plays and NFL postseason bets for the week.  Stay tuned for our best player props in the NFL playoffs later this week. We have hit on 8 of our last 9 player props. Here are my New Year’s Day bowl picks using from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKing Sportsbook.

Wisconsin Badgers -3 vs. Oregon Ducks (Rose Bowl)

FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Wis -3

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Wis -3

This simply comes down to the size matchup of Wisconsin’s line against Oregon’s line. Jonathan Taylor is having a 2,000-yard season because of the big guys in front of them, and despite Oregon being a solid run defense, they haven’t faced a line this big before. Oregon is coming off a big win against Utah in the Pac-12 Championship game, but Wisconsin, in my mind, is a better team than Utah and playing in a more difficult contest. The Badgers led the Buckeyes at halftime in the Big 10 Championship and destroyed Minnesota the week before. They are playing their best football as the season comes to a close. I just think Wisconsin wins this game in the trenches and pounds the rock against the Ducks. Take Wisconsin, and put a little action on the under as well.

Prediction: Wisconsin 27, Oregon 16

Auburn Tigers -7.5 vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers (Outback Bowl)

FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Utah-UT UNDER 54.5

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds:Utah-UT UNDER 54.5

Similar to the game above, this is a talent mismatch that favors Auburn. The Tigers are coming off a strong end to the season, beating Alabama 48-45 in the Iron Bowl to close out the season. Auburn’s losses this year came to the hands of LSU, Florida, and Georgia, but also had impressive wins against Oregon, Texas A&M, and Alabama. To say their schedule was brutal would be an understatement and they’re much better than their record indicates. Minnesota is a great story and played with a lot of emotion in their win against Penn State last month, but they were manhandled against bigger teams in Wisconsin and Iowa, and Auburn, like them, is a bigger team and should be able to push around the small Gophers line. While I think this game stays close early, eventually the Tigers pull away for a big win.

Prediction: Auburn 34, Minnesota 17

Other games I like:
Tennessee -2.5 OVER Indiana (Gator Bowl)
Michigan TT OVER 25.5 points vs. Alabama (Outback Bowl)
